By increasing the size of the cockpit, not the mid ship, we allow for easy exit and entry while keeping a tight fit for control. At 17'10", we are able to offset the 22.5" width to allow for cleaner gentler lines for more speed, so covering the longest distance will be a snap in this well outfitted, easy to paddle Greenland style kayak. 3 rubber hatches keep gear dry and below deck while the compass recess waits to get you home through the darkest of fog banks. Tied together for strength and maximum dryness with 3 fiberglass bulkheads, the Assateague is ready to take on any water condition from morning glass to 10-foot seas.
